Proper shoe care and maintenance of your Lignarolo shoes will help to ensure their longevity in wear. If you follow the guidelines on our shoe care section and treat your shoes in the correct manner, there is no reason why your shoes will not last for many years.

Never wear your new leather-soled shoes in the rain until they have been worn about 3 or 4 times.
If your shoes do get wet, put shoe trees in them or newspaper if you don't have trees. Let them dry at room temperature for at least 48 hours before you wear them again. Wet sole leather will wear out twice as quickly as dry sole leather.
Before polishing your shoes always wipe them over with a dry cloth to get rid of surface dirt.
When choosing between a cream polish or a wax polish, most people are more familiar with a wax. A wax will give your shoes a boost in shine, and adds another layer of protection to your shoes. For a cream, this is for when the leather of your shoes looks dry, as it will hydrate the leather.
