THE PROCESS
OF OUR HANDMADE SHOES
Each of our shoes follows the centuries-old tradition of Italian craftsmanship, that passed from father to son, from generation to generation. We manufacture them in the heart of the footwear industry in Colombia, the Restrepo district, where the entire urban fabric is built on the craft of making shoes. Together with artisans, we select the best materials to obtain the kind of quality you expect from our products. From the choice of leather or the joining technique, to the application of the sole...
Forming and the Production Room
Forming (the term used when referring to 'throwing the upper onto the last') is when the shoe begins to take shape. The Last is the foundation of the shoemaker and is often considered its best kept secret.
Our Last Guide offers detailed descriptions about the origins and characteristics of each last that is still used in production today.
The first Forming process begins with attaching the upper to the back of the last, ensuring the back height is correct. The front of the upper is then thrown onto the forming machine, where it is vital that the 'Toe Shaper' ensures the upper fits precisely to the last. A toe forming machine can only be described as a typical shoe manufacturing gadget.
An important process within our production room is Eyelet stitching, where the eyelet (a strip of leather) is sewn to the reinforcement that has been attached to the insoles. This process is carried out by a highly skilled operator on the famous Blake sewing machine. The Blake seam construction method ensures that strength and repairability are always integral features of our footwear.

The leather
Only the best
Our artisans work exclusively with Italian leather, the finest. From soft, natural full grain leather to suede, nubuck, oiled leather or polished leather – quality is guaranteed.
The soles
If there is a part of the shoe that carries the history of footwear with it from day one, it is the sole. We offer leather soles for a classic walk. And for a more casual style, we choose high-quality rubber soles.
